Quick Bytes #5: A Pie Chart

Spending an hour a day with God - daily mass, silent prayer, maybe just listening - sounds pretty Holy right?

I mean, the average American spends 2.7 hours a day watching TV, 1.1 hours online,  and 7.5 hours working.

Surely squeezing in an hour with God is pretty good, no?

Until you realize that, if we are awake for 16 hours a day, this is what that looks like:

I never did like pie charts.

God Bless.

  2. Time spent with God can include all those other times in the pie chart too. Pray always!

  3. Sarah- I agree with you! Depending on our state of life, we have to do the other stuff- I can't NOT change a diaper because I am praying- but I can (cheesy, yes) offer the action of fulfilling my motherly vocation as a prayer to God

  4. I recently did a sanity schedule Michael, and noticed that my planned time for God looked very similar to this pie chart. It was a reminder of the need to practice the awareness of being in the presence of God, and also rejoicing in the ability to listen to Christian music even while at work so I stay immersed in the awesome reality that God is with me.
