Ok ... a quick opinion poll now.
How many people make the sign of the Cross before meals?
How about when you're in public, like in a restaurant?
How many people make the sign of the Cross when passing a church?
How many women wear a veil when in church?
Now read this wonderful post from Sue.
Always make sign of cross before meals. Always when in public. Make sign of cross when passing sometimes...I forget! I wear a veil if I am at the Extraordinary form of the mass. I don't wear a veil at the Ordinary form of the mass. I feel that "when in Rome, do as the Romans do." I don't like to draw attention to myself.
ReplyDeleteVictor,
ReplyDeleteThank you for the link to my post!
I always say grace before meals at home and in public, even though sometimes I do feel a little uncomfortable with people watching me.
I don't make the sign of the cross when passing a church. Actually this is the first time I've heard of that custom. I was aware men used to raise their hats as a sign of respect. But I do whisper a few words of love to Jesus in the tabernacle as I go by.
I don't wear a veil.
Thanks for the opinion poll!
Yes, make the sign of the cross, and pray grace before a meal, even in public in a restaurant when I am with my kids or kindred hearted believer. If I am in secular company, like coworkers, I do not pray aloud, only quietly.
ReplyDeleteI do make the sign of the Cross when passing a church and pray as well.
I never have worn a veil in church and probably never will.
